1.Hero AE47 

Hero AE-47 is upcoming electric motorcycle by hero electric India. It is one of the best electric motorcycle in India. AE-47 is also premium in terms of cycle parts. It sports inverted telescopic forks and a monoshock along with disc brakes at both ends. Meanwhile, the design of the swingarm also exudes quality. Powering this motorcycle is a 4kW hub motor which is claimed to deliver a top speed of 85kmph and 0-60kmph is achieved in nine seconds. A removable 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery can deliver range of 160kms and 85kms in Power and Eco mode, respectively. The charging time is stated to be four hours.

The AE-47 is also high on features with a fancy fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity along with full-LED lighting. It also incorporates a USB charger, walk and reverse assist, cruise control, geo-fencing, GPS and support for SIM card.

Looking at the premium package that the Hero Electric AE-47 is, it is expected to be priced between Rs 1.3-1.5 lakh. It will be a direct competitor of the Revolt RV400 ,Okinawa oki100  and other upcoming electric motorcycles by different companies.

Okinawa oki100

Oki100 will offer performance equivalent to a modern ICE-powered 125cc commuter motorcycle. It will reportedly deliver a claimed range of 150km under ideal riding conditions. Powering the EV will be a frame-mounted electric motor rather than a hub-motor. In terms of underpinnings, the Oki100 may come with a telescopic front fork, rear monoshock, and disc brake on both ends with CBS. On the feature front, the upcoming electric motorcycle will come with smartphone connectivity, and may also get LED lights all around.

Bajaj Chetak electric

The Chetak name returned to the Indian two-wheeler space with the launch of Bajaj’s first electric scooter. The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is available in two variants: Urbane and Premium. Prices for the scooter begin from Rs 1 lakh for the former trim, with the Premium option costing an extra Rs 15,000, ex-showroom Pune. Head here to know the on-road prices of the Chetak.

The price of Bajaj Chetak starts at Rs. 1.00 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.15 Lakh. Bajaj Chetak is offered in 2 variants - Urbane and the top variant Chetak Premium which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.15 Lakh.

Specifications

Powering the Bajaj Chetak is a 4kW BLDC electric motor with 2 riding modes: Eco and Sport. It also gets a reverse mode. The top speed of the Chetak remains 60kmph, which is a bit underwhelming. However, Bajaj claims that the lower top speed helps extend the range of the 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Bajaj claims the electric scooter will offer a real-world range of 95km in Eco mode and 85km in Sport mode. The Chetak gets Vespa-like suspension setup in the form of a front trailing link suspension, and 12-inch alloy wheels fitted with MRF Zapper tyres. On the Premium variant, the Chetak gets a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the back. The Urbane trim gets drum brakes at both ends.

Variants

Bajaj offers the Chetak in two variants: Urbane and Premium. The former gets a front drum brake and comes in two colours: yellow and white. The Premium variant has a front disc brake. There are four colours on the Premium variant: black, beige, blue and red.

Design

Fabulously designed in metal, the Bajaj Chetak stands apart from the plethora of other electric scooters who are either looking at being simple or outright futuristic. It is stylish, elegant and chic, almost like a Vespa. The design inferences are apparent as the old petrol-powered Chetak was a descendant of the Vespa 150 of the time. Bajaj has certainly done a tremendous job marrying old school charm with modern design quirks, like the C luggage hook on the seat or the triangular rear view mirrors on slim metal stalks. The quality of the piano black switches are top notch. The brushed metal bezel surrounding the LED headlight and the LCD digital info panel add to the premiumness of the scooter.

Features

The feature list on the Bajaj Chetak is not as exhaustive as the Ather 450X or even the TVS iQube Electric. The Chetak is the only scooter of these three to get a plain LCD display, while the others get a fancy colour TFT screen. Even the connected tech on the Chetak is very limited. It does have the basic geo-tagging and geo-fencing features as well as turn-by-turn navigation. You can also hook your smartphone to the scooter to control your music on the go. There is a storage compartment in the front apron where you can store the charging cable of the Chetak as well as your mobile phone in case you want to charge it on the move. There are no key slots to be found on the Chetak, Bajaj providing a small key fob for keyless ignition. In order to open the front storage area or the seat, there are switches located on the right side panel.

Ather 450X

Ather has inaugurated its first showroom in Bombay and begun deliveries, starting with the limited edition Series 1 e-scooter based on the 450X. The brand also recently introduced a unique buyback plan for the Ather 450X. As per the scheme, Ather will buy back the 450X for Rs 85,000 if customers want to part ways with the scooter. That aside, the brand has also introduced a lease plan and exchange offers for the 450X which will make the scooter more accessible to customers who aren't willing to pay the full price up front. The 450X is available in two variants: the 450X and the 450 Plus. The price of the 450 Plus has been revised to Rs 1,39,999, while the 450X will cost you Rs 1,59,000 (including GST and FAME II subsidies). With a true top speed of 80kmph and a 0-40kmph time of just 3.9 seconds, the Ather 450X electric scooter offers healthy performance thanks to a new and more powerful 6kW, 26Nm Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMS) motor.

Being a smart scooter, it also gets superior connectivity and intelligent features such as in-built Google Maps navigation and digital document storage. All these features can be used via the 7-inch colour touchscreen which has seen updates in the form of a 1.3 Ghz Snapdragon processor and is built on an Android Open Source operating system. Also new is Bluetooth connectivity enabling music & call controls and the 450X comes with integrated 4G LTE SIM connectivity. Go juice is stored in a 2.9kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 70km in Ride mode and 85km in Eco.

There are multiple ways to charge the improved lithium-ion battery pack. An Ather Dot home charger is provided with the scooter, with which the top up from 0 to 80 percent will require 4.5 hours, while fast charging from the AtherGrid guarantees a rate of 1km per minute of charge, upto 80percent.

Stopping power comes from disc brakes front and rear with a combined braking system, while suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and monoshock. The 450X can currently be booked in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

The price of Ather 450X starts at Rs. 1.27 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.46 Lakh. Ather 450X is offered in 2 variants - 450 Plus and the top variant 450X 450X which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.46 Lakh.
